Apparently this forum has trouble updating edited replies so I want to add here that thanks to insights from @david, I am able to temporarily insert my SSD as is in place and use it. I will look into M.2 screw problem soon.

980ti is roughly equivalent to 1080. Not surprising that MSI doesn't have any 980ti gaming 6g in replacement stock.
If they cannot replace it with a 1080 gaming series or maybe a 1070 gaming x, then you may want to get to the cash option, if applicable.

Stickers from MSI are original, so it is scan's labels that are incorrectly placed. Possibly someone put up Gaming X SCAN stock sticker on standard Gaming box..
